David & Laura-- Partners in DVD Video Productions
Laura Shelton is a native of Delaware and more than anything, she knows how to treat people. David Frantz grew up in Mt. Pleasant and started videotaping weddings in Charleston in 1987. Laura met David after she moved to be near her family. Laura has a background in both art and business. After meeting, she became interested in his work and soon started to edit his weddings. Inspired and competitive, she has now been very successfully shooting and editing her own weddings for years and is using her organizational and people skills to manage their office. Her creative eye, her extensive background in customer service, and her heart for working with people are her guides to success as a wedding videographer and a businessperson.
David's art, photography, and filmmaking interests in high school led to him to achieve awards and to earn a college degree with honors from the journalism school at the University of Georgia, studies including fine arts, and radio, television, and film production. He has experience as a teacher, and a graduate degree from the school of education at the College of Charleston. At graduation, he was hired to work as a photographer and videographer by Georgia Southwestern College Public Relations Department. He later worked as a news photographer for local ABC and CBS affiliates, and as a television commercial producer for cable markets ranging from St. Mary's Ga. all the way up the coast to Laurinburg, N.C. He has been self-employed since 1999. In addition to his freelance photography, video production, and graphic work, he has worked as a photographer and videographer at hundreds of weddings. Many of his photos have been published locally and regionally as well as one, nationally in Life Magazine. His video has been shown on local television and recently, nationally on the NBC Today Show and The Learning Channel. His clients, like his interests, represent diverse groups. A while back David and Laura decided to take the home-based studio public at our current store front location.

Experience, talent, and technique make us different.
When you desire to create an incredible wedding video, a love story, entertaining to anyone who views it, you may need some assistance. With help, you can portray yourself with a role in your own romantic film with people you love to watch and with a sound track you love to hear. Not anyone can do this. You can make it possible if you hire a unique filmmaker, a portrait photographer with the skills of a video producer, and many years’ experience capturing flattering images under very difficult and challenging conditions.
First, you need a documentary filmmaker with an experienced story-telling technique for soulful results. You need someone that prepares just as you and your family have prepared for that day. Those hours fly by so quickly and so intensely; you have no recollections of the small details.
You need so much more than what a camera operator does. You need a talented, tireless, intelligent, and creative observer well versed with tools to capture the light as it falls on the most dramatic scenes of your life. You, your families, and your friends’ candid portraits need to be captured on video before time takes them away, and so you can revisit your memories as years pass. The action in each scene requires a response with attention to detail.
You need a filmmaker, poised, calm but quick, to pursue bride and groom in a sensitive manner, as unobtrusive as possible. You need images captured from high, low, and mixing shots with ever changing angles. Rhythmically, shots flow with intervals keenly timed by one who can edit events as they occur, expecting the unexpected. If you wish, your family and guests have an opportunity to share a story about you or give you a greeting on tape without pressure or imposition.
